This is how the surf in Krui is like when the sea runs wild.
The sea runs wild because of bad weather condition. Strong offshore wind makes
the sea choppy and dangerous. And when this happens nobody dare to surf, and no
fisherman of any kind dare to go fishing.
Strong wind can cause damage to people property. Fish
becomes rare and expensive, trees fall down, and some house roofs get blown
away. Trees that fall down into power masks can cause black out too. And if
this happens everyday, it may turn into disaster.
About three days ago, I heard that a ship sunk somewhere in
Bengkunat, Belimbing. According to the news, one of the ship’s crew was able to
save his life, while 19 others were reported as missing. This is not the first
time ship strands in Krui shores due to bad weather condition.
Strong winds usually strike Krui in December to January, but
this year, it still comes in March. However, at the end of February till
earlier March, the surfs were good.
Pictures above were taken on March 11, 2012.
