The scheme to run Krui airport, south Sumatera, for
commercial flight will soon be materialized.
The meeting between the local government of Lampung Barat
district and Susi Air, the airline which will hold the flights, in Jakarta , Tuesday (February
28) has made an agreement on the schedule of the flights and the tariff of the
ticket the local government has to pay to support the passengers.
The head of the Department of Local Revenue of Lampung Barat district Sudarto confirmed via his
cell phone yesterday that he and the head of the Department of Transportation
of Lampung Barat Sekhudin and a local figure of Lampung Barat Oking Ganda
Miharja had held a meeting with the representatives of the airline in Jakarta.
He also confirmed that the meeting had discussed the preparation of both
parties regarding the incoming commercial flights.
He said that they had made an agreement that Susi Air
airplanes will fly 100 hours a month. The flight ticket from Jakarta
to Krui will cost Rp.700.000, and will take off at 14.00, while the flight form
Krui to Jakarta
will take off at 09.00 every day. The flight from Krui to Bandarlampung will be
held every Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday, and the ticket will cost
Rp.485.000.
Susi Air will deploy small airplanes with 12 seats, eight of
which will be paid by the local government of Lampung Barat on each flight
basis.
“At the beginning, the local government proposed 150 hours
of flight a month, but then we agreed on 100 hours. The ticket cost which was
initially planned for Rp.1.100.000 then went off to Rp.700.000. And from the 12
seats available, four of which will be subsidized by the airline.”
Next, Sudarto said, the agreement will be submitted to the
regent of Lampung Barat district for further discussion.
