KRUI (Lampost): Due to lack of medical equipments at Krui hospitals, Mc Leon Done Gordon (25) an Australian surfer, was flown  abroad for a better medical care from Krui airport, on Friday, June 22, 2012. Mc Leon hit the reef and broke his thigh bone while he was surfing Way Jambu, the next surf after Karang Nyimbur, the other day.

According Ani (37) the manager of Ombak Indah, the camp where Mc Leon was staying, Mc Leon was flown to Singapore for a better treatment.

“This is the second time a surfer flown abroad from Krui airport after having a fatal accident,” said Ani to Lampung Post at the airport, when the flight was about to take off.

She said that the airplane is chartered by the insurance company that covers Mc Leon’s travel in Indonesia.

Amir, a medical officer at the Health Center (Puskesmas) in Pesisir Selatan, who was also coming to the airport, said that they had given Mc Leon a treatment prior to the flight. However, due to the lack of medical equipments, and the serious injury, they couldn’t do much to help him.

“He broke his left thigh bone. He needs an advance medical treatment like an X-ray, which we don’t have,” he said.
