American Deported for Being A Nuisance

BANDARLAMPUNG (Lampost): Up to April 2011, the First Class Immigration Office at Bandar Lampung has deported four foreign citizens. The four foreigners have been deported due to some Immigration problems as well as  Law.

Head of the First Class Immigration Office at Bandar Lampung, Johny, accompanied by the Head of the Education and Supervision Section of the Immigration (Wasdakim), Bachtiar, said that they have just deported William Andrew Watson, an American citizen.



"Andrew was flown by Sri Wijaya Air from Lampung to Jakarta at 14:40 o'clock, 26 April, 2011" said Bakhtiar, Friday (29-4-2011).

Then, he was deported from Indonesia by Air Asia flight to Singapore at 18.00.

Disturbing Behavior 



Bachtiar explained that Andrew previously lived in Karang Nyimbur, Tanjungsetia, Lampung Barat, Lampung (South Sumatera), Indonesia, where he managed his own surf camp, since 2009.

Because of his disturbing behavior, the local residents gave a report to the Immigration Office at Bandar Lampung, prompting him to be deported. "We received a report dated 5 April 2011, and then we followed the report up by making an investigation," he said.



Based on the public reports and the findings of the Bandar Lampung Immigration Investigation team, Andrew shown to have drunk a lot, disturbed women, and even given insults to the followers of Islam which made people restless.

"We, gathered the chiefs of the villages (peratin) of Tanjungsetia sub-county to check the reports from the residents. We also have talked to the head of the local sub-counties, it turned out that what people said were just true," said Bakhtiar.



Bandarlampung Immigration then talked to the Central Immigration Office in Jakarta. From their invesitigation they found that Andy’s kitas visa (green card) has been expired since April 15, so, he is subject to be deported, after being processed by Immigration Office.

According to Johan Johnny Saad, the other three foreigners who have been already deported before, namely Dmytro Surdu, Ukrainian, for psychotropic case, Ramli from Malaysia for lack of documents, and Dabre Sahabu from Ivory Coast for money counterfeiting.
 

Johnny said if people find foreigners who live in their surrounding areas break the rules or the peacefulness of the society, they can directly give the local authorities a report. "If the local authorities do not react, they can tell us at  Immigration Office. They shall be prosecuted according to the Law on Immigration," he said. (UNI/K-1)
