It was Januari 1st, 2012. The very first day of
the year. The day was overcast and drizzled at Pantai Labuhan jukung in the morning.
The wind blew. The sea was a bit choppy. However, the beach was packed with a
lot of local tourist, from Krui, and from towns nearby, to enjoy the New
Year. Prior to the morning beach tour, there was a big New Year’s eve party at
the beach. Live music was performed and fireworks were displayed on the air. The New Year's eve was very gay and happy.
On this very first day, Krui Left worked a little. It was
about two to three feet and there was nobody in the water but this guy.
He was so freely taking the waves for himself. Nobody was around to share. And
since there was nobody took the surf earlier in the morning, but later, he must
be the first surfer of the year. Yeah, the first surfer in 2012!
The surfs around Krui was kind of fickle on December. They
worked some days but run flat the other days. The number of foreign surfers
dropped down, but you can still spot some white people on bikes in town. There
were about ten surfers stayed in town and about another ten stayed in the surf
camps down south. Krui Left rarely seen crowded with surfers
