Nev Hines, Owner of 'Ombak Indah' Dies from Suspected Heart Attack

Nev Hines, also known as ‘Mambo’ (64), owner of ‘Ombak Indah’ surf camp, in Krui, Lampung, South Sumatera, Indonesia, passed away last night, May 27, 2011 from a suspected heart attack.

According to some sources, Nev was all of a sudden found collapsing at his camp before he was rushed to to Krui hospital by his wife and his friends. Unfortunately, he died on the way, before they got to the hospital.

Nev had suffered from a serious illness before, years ago. The illness which had caused his body a little weak, had taken him off business for quite a while for some rests. He then came back to business in later years, though he wasn’t as able and sound as he was before.

Apart from managing his surf camps, Nev also managed a package trip with his Freeline company, touring surfers by boat from Bali, Java, and Sumatera, both on islands and mainland. According to some sources, he also shaped surf boards under Freeline name, in Australia.

In 2001, he built his ‘Ombak Indah’ surf camp in Karang Nyimbur, Krui, South Sumatera, a basecamp where he and his crew resided, and based, when they were in Krui. Beside ‘Ombak Indah’, Nev also own and manage another surf camp in Ujung Genteng, West Java.***
