Hey, Can You See That? It's an ATM!

One of the flaw of tourism industry in Krui, South Sumatera, Indonesia was that this town lack of money supply methods. You would have to be loaded with cash before you came to this town. No ATM, nor traveler’s check, nor credit card worked in this town. The only ATM available is located in Liwa, the next town up hill, 32 km east of Krui. Though it’s not too far away from Krui, but the long and winding up hill road make the journey to this town arduous that make people think twice before they decided to go for the ATM. 

Now that the problem is solved, your journey to Krui is much more comfortable. An ATM is ready to solve your monetary problem. You don’t have to get a bunch of cash in your pants pouch anymore. And you don’t have to travel to the next town only for some cash.

This ATM is the answer to complaints both from local people and foreigners. Local people complained that they had to stand in a queue for hours only for some peanuts. It’s not worth it when you have to travel a long way and stand in a line with your account book in your hand for hours only for some little cash. You could have spent your whole day for that. We need an ATM, they said.  

For Krui people, the ATM is a dream comes true. Now that they don’t have to waste their time to draw their money from the bank. At one of the bank in Krui, people have to wait for hours before they are called forward to make transactions. They have to get early in the morning to have an early turn, otherwise, they have to stand in crowd of other customers. While it’s easier for people from downtown Krui, it’s much harder for people from the suburbs since the journey to the bank take hours.

And for foreigners, the ATM is also a good news. Many foreigners arrived in Krui and found that they have their cash finished. And they got cranky when they knew that they have to travel back to the town that they had just passed by for some cash.

The ATM that affiliated to Bank Lampung is located by the main road, just in your way to get to the town beach, to Krui left. Though it belongs to Bank Lampung, it is a joined ATM, which customers of different banks can use. It is called “ATM Bersama” in Bahasa. Indonesian customers of Bank BNI, Bank BRI, Bank Mandiri can use this ATM. And I heard that customers of foreign banks can also use the ATM.

Well, now that you can travel to Krui easy. Get your surfboards or your backpacks ready, and don’t forget your ATM cards. By the way, you have to make sure that you have enough credit on your bank accounts. I heard that the ATM card is useless if you don’t have any credit left.
