Bike ride is now popular among travelers in Krui. When you
are in the road, you will see many surfers riding their bikes to and from the
surfs. Since the surfs are quite away from one another, you need to be quick in
your move. Otherwise, you’ll left behind and find the surfs are packed with
other surfers. Some surfers rent a car, but more rent a bike. Bike is a smart
choice since it can take you right away after you get out of the water. You
don’t have to dry your body and your clothes before you hit the road on it. And if the spot is far enough, then you’ll have your clothes dried when
you get to your camp. Smart, right?
Now more and more tourists ride a bike in Krui. Some ride
their bikes alone. Some get their ass doubled at the back. Some double their
girlfriends. Some others double their boy friends. Some of them are young. But
some others are old. Some rides very well, while some others are just giddy
riders. (But for you to know, male surfers prefer to ride their own bike than
get doubled at the back because they are afraid that getting doubled on a bike
too often will turn them into a gay.) (To find yourself a gay after your holiday is over is a nightmare, isn't it?)
Yes, bike is truly a smart choice. When you stay in Krui,
you need one badly to get around. If you stay in Karang Nyimbur (where most
surfers do), you need to move 5 km south to Way Jambu (the Sumatran Pipelines),
22 km north to Krui Left, and about one and a half hour drive (at least) to Jimmy’s,
which all you can get by a bike.
Bike is not merely transportation. Getting to surfs by a
bike is in itself a recreation, as well as a sensation. People who rides their
bike to and from the surfs seem to enjoy themselves and happy. Riding a bike, you’ll
get fresh air which can chill you out after you have a bad day (say that you
knock your head to the reef, or you got a terrible wipeout in the waves, or your
friends make an ugly face at you), and, on the other hand, you can feel the
atmosphere of local way in getting around on your way to and from the surfs, at
the same time.
And when you find the surfs are shithouses after riding your
bike a long way, it's OK then. You get the ride, right?
