Fishing Boat Cargo

Think about taking all your stuffs to the island. There’s no big boat, and you have to go to the island with a bunch of furniture like sofas, tables, and cabinets, all at once. You have no other choice. Then you’ll have to charter a fishing boat.

This what happens to the people who live in Pulau Pisang today. Now there’s no big boat that has enough space to carry a bunch of stuffs like the one they had in the past. Everything that you buy in the main land has to be carried over by a small fishing boat.

The woman in this picture had bought a set of sofas and a table in the mainland of Krui, prior to Lebaran Day, and she had to carry them over to the island where she lives. Thank god, the fiberglass fishing boat is big enough to load them up so she didn’t have to take two ways round.

Fiberglass fishing boat is bigger than conventional wooden fishing boats that traditional fishermen use to go fishing everyday so she can carry a lot. And if she is not used for fishing, she can be used to taxi people and carry cargo from the island and vice versa.

However, you need at least six men to move her from the sand to the water. The more cargo you have, the more people you need to help you. And if you don’t have enough people in your party, then you’ll have to ask for help from bystanders near you, like the woman in this picture did. ***
